Mirko Landoni

French Horn

Mirko Landoni, 2º horn of the “ Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia “ from 2018,

and former 2º horn of the “ Orchestra Haydn di Bolzano e Trento “ from 2013.

Born in Milan in 1988, he graduated in 2008 at the "conservatorio G. Verdi of Milano" under the

guide of Brunello Gorla.


In 2009 he studied with Guido Corti at the "Scuola di Musica di Fiesole" and with David Johnson

in the "Conservatorio di Lugano". In 2010 he won the audition for the " Academy of Teatro alla

Scala". He attended many masterclasses with world renowned musicians such as Radovan Vlatkovic, Radek Baborak, Dale Clevenger, Hermann Baumann, Markus Maskuniitty, Zora Slokar, Rex Martin, Sarah Willis, Will Sanders and the American Horn Quartett.


In 2010 he won the audition for extra players in the “Teatro alla Scala di Milano” where he played

for the next 3 years. He also had many collaborations with orchestras such as “Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana”,“Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI”, " Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino", orchestra dell' " Arena di Verona", “ Orchestra La Verdi “ di Milano, “Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano”, “ Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini”, “Orchestra da camera di Mantova“.


In 2013 and 2015 he got invited as Principal Horn from the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra

where he played for over a year. In his carrier he had the pleasure to work with amazing conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Kirill Petrenko, Semyon Bychkov, Valery Gergiev, Paavo Järvi, John Eliot Gardiner, Gustavo Dudamel, Herbert Blomstedt, Antonio Pappano, Daniel Harding, Myung-Whun Chung, Daniele Gatti, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Gianandrea Noseda, Jeffrey Tate, Juraj Valčuha, Fabio Luisi, Marc Albrecht, Claus Peter Flor, Robin Ticciati, etc.


From 2020 he held masterclasses for horn and psychology of performance in “ Santa Fiora in

Musica “, conservatorio “ Rinaldo Franci “ in Siena and at the Etna horn's Festival in Sicily.


He teaches horn and chamber music in the Avos music school in Rome.
