Gallus Burkard

Double Bass

Gallus Burkard's musical experience began on his father's organ bench. After a detour via the flute, he found his way to the double bass. He has studied at the Zurich Conservatory, in London with Duncan Mc Tier, as well as participated in numerous master classes.


In 1990 Gallus Burkard was appointed as a member of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich. In addition, he enjoys playing jazz, klezmer and folk music.


Since 2001, Gallus Burkard plays on a self-made instrument.
