Pawel Cal

Pawel Cal is one of the most prominent French horn players in Poland. A graduate of the Music Academy in Kraków, he has studied with Tadeusz Tomaszewski,Ph.D and Prof. Will Sanders.  

Pawel Cal is a prize winner of multiple international competitions, including the International Horn Competition (Brno, 2015), Polish Nationwide Edwin Golnik Competition for French Horn Players (Łódź, 2015), Polish Nationwide Competition for Brass Instruments (Katowice, 2016), Leoš Janáček Music Competition (Brno, 2016), Polish Nationwide Competition for Brass Ensembles (Warsaw, 2017), International Competition for Brass Instruments (Gdańsk, 2017), Prague Spring International Music Competition (Prague, 2018) and International Musical Competition of Michał Spisak (Dąbrowa Górnicza 2019). 

An enthusiastic soloist and chamber music, Mr. Cal is also a recipient of the prestigious grants of the "Otwarta Filharmonia Agrafki Muzycznej", Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the "Saper Auso" Foundation.

Since 2016, Mr. Cal holds the Co-principal position at the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice.
