Miguel Pérez Iñesta
Born in 1980 in Valladolid, Miguel Pérez Iñesta is an exciting and sought after conductor and clarinetist.
He studied piano, clarinet and ballet in Asturias before moving to Berlin in 2003. There he entered the class of clarinetist and conductor Karl- Heinz Steffens at the Hanns Eisler Musikhochschule and became a member of the Berlin Philharmonic's Karajan Akademie.
Since then he is a regular guest of the orchestra and is a very active and passionate soloist within the new music scene. He is the founder of the Zafraan Ensemble in Berlin.
As a conductor, Miguel made his first appearances at the Luzern Festival and the Podium Festival Esslingen. He has been appointed assistant conductor for various opera productions at the Deutsche Oper, the Staatsoper Berlin and Theater Basel. He made his conducting debut at the Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin in 2017. His future conducting engagements include the Tonhalle Orchester Zürich and the Kammerakademie Potsdam.
