Juan Pechuan Ramirez

Juan Pechuan Ramirez, born in Valencia, started his musical studies in the Music School Jose Iturbi (Conservatorio Jose Iturbi) in Valencia under the tuition of Miguel Morella and ended his basic education in the Music Highschool Joaquin Rodrigo (Conservatorio Superior Joaquin Rodrigo) with F. Salanova, obtaining the “Premio Final de carrera" and after that, in 2009, the “Euterpe Price”.

After that he continued his training with a scholarship at the Karajan Academy of the Berliner Philarmoniker under the tuition of Jonathan Kelly and receiving lessons from all the other members of the orchestra (Albrecht Mayer, Andreas Wittmann, Christoph Hartmann und Dominik Wollenweber). In addition, his scholarship offered the opportunity to play with the orchestra regularly during these two years.


In 2011 Juan won a trial as 1st Solo-oboe with the London Symphony Orchestra, allowing him to work with them for two years, playing in the most renowned halls as the Lincoln Center in New York, Barbican Center and Royal Albert Hall in London, Philharmonie in Paris and others, and recording y numerous records with the orchtestra in the famous Abbey Road studios. 


He has performed as the solo-oboe with the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin for 18 months, Mozart-Orchestra in Bologna, Deutsche Symphony Orchester Berlin, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Opera dei teatro Regio di Torino,  Frankfurt Oper, Komische Oper Berlin, among others. These engagements provided him with the opportunity to work with conductors as Sir Simon Rattle, Claudio Abbado, Herbert Blomsted, Zubin Metha, Sir Colin Davis, Bernard Haitink, Donald Runnicles, Michael Tilson Thomas, Valery Gergiev or Christian Thielemmann.


Juan currently lives in Berlin and holds the position of first Solo-Oboe in the orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
