
Wen Qian
Ms. Qian has been appointed to the first violin section at the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra since 1997. She has also served numerous years as the acting Assistant Concertmaster and is currently on the violin faculty at Mannes College of Music in New York City.
Ms. Qian has collaborated with numerous world renowned musicians including James Levine, Valery Gergiev, Andras Schiff, Mitsuko Uchita, Leslie Parnas, Nobuko Imai, and the members of the Beaux Arts Trio, Guarneri and Juilliard Quartets.
She has performed as a soloist with the the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra, Central Philharmonic of China, Beijing Symphony, Shanghai Symphony, Guangzhou Symphony, Long Beach Symphony, the Met Orchestra Ensemble and the Mannes Orchestra.
As a chamber musician, she has performed in music festivals including Marlboro, Tanglewood, Sarasota, as well as the Met Chamber Music series at Carnegie Hall and the Young Concert Artist Series presented by the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.
Ms. Qian studied with Felix Galimir at the Mannes College of Music in New York City where she obtained her Bachelor and Master of Music as well as her Professional Studies Diploma, she was awarded the highest honor of Excellence in Performance Award upon graduation.
